An insurance company based in Melrose currently has a vacancy for a Business Analyst (primarily)/Project Manager (secondary).  This person will be the main liaison with IT service providers for the company as all their IT services are outsourced.

The following requirements are needed to be considered for this post:

  • Good communicator
  • Comfortable to present to an audience
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative
  •  Attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experienced Business Analyst that can put IT specs together
  • Preferably comes from a financial industry
  • Project Management qualification or experience

The tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Main liaison with IT service providers (Development and Infrastructure)
  • High level IT System architecture design to meet operational needs
  • Oversee custom system development
    • 3.1 IT Project Office managed weekly
    • 3.2 Producing business specifications for IT developments as detailed by departments
    • 3.3 Checking existing systems for compliance to internal business rules and producing reports specifying errors and corrections needed
    • 3.4 Identify operational needs that can be addressed through system development
    • 3.5 Coordination of User Acceptance testing
    • 3.6 Sign-off on development prior to release
    • 3.7 Systems and procedure roll out on all new developments
    • 3.8 Notification of new development to users of IT systems
  • Review and update all IT related policies
  • Manage external IT audit process and implement recommendations
  • Dashboard Reporting on Projects to Executive
